Alpha Centauri Kid returns to an unpublished work from years gone by.

In interblossom, a.c.k. reimagines a scene from sci-fi movie Interstellar in which robot TARS – rendered here as an arrangement of interlocking keyboards – travels to Miller, a planet completely covered by water.

The work came back to life when refracted through the prism of Piano Blossoms. An unusual combination of purple and yellow dominates the composition. a.c.k. introduced flashes of green and pink to balance the palette. The resulting landscape is uncanny – like the world viewed through a mirror.

The 12k digital artwork was transformed into a physical object by printmakers at Make-Ready in London, who worked closely with a.c.k. to introduce layers of texture and glossy highlights to the surface of the print.

Alpha Centauri Kid7 collaborationsAlpha Centauri Kid minted his first artwork on-chain in 2021. Now, he’s a leading artist in the space. This might sound like an overnight success, but a.c.k. has been making art and music since his teens. After record-breaking bidding wars on his Superrare debut, a.c.k. left his government day job (which he’d been in for fourteen years) to take on art full-time. His aesthetic spins in many different directions. Gifs like Dark Red Death have an internet-goth-Renaissance vibe, while you will n̶o̶t̶ surely die could easily be an Abstract Expressionist painting. les femmes glissées has a Cubist style in a nod to Picasso, but The Great Restoration looks like a scene from a sci-fi movie. Even though a.c.k.'s work is massively varied, one thing is always present – a story.
