Alpha Centauri Kid returns to an unpublished work from years gone by.

In interblossom, a.c.k. reimagines a scene from sci-fi movie Interstellar in which robot TARS – rendered here as an arrangement of interlocking keyboards – travels to Miller, a planet completely covered by water.

The work came back to life when refracted through the prism of Piano Blossoms. An unusual combination of purple and yellow dominates the composition. a.c.k. introduced flashes of green and pink to balance the palette. The resulting landscape is uncanny – like the world viewed through a mirror.

The 12k digital artwork was transformed into a physical object by printmakers at Make-Ready in London, who worked closely with a.c.k. to introduce layers of texture and glossy highlights to the surface of the print.
