I am increasingly influenced by Chinese art and philosophy. I no longer see the world as a substance, but as a dynamic synthesis of interdependent conditions, constantly in flux.

Zeng Fanzhi transforms one of his haunting skull paintings into a new limited edition print.
Ephemerality (13) brings together two defining aspects of Zeng's practice: the symbolic power of the skull and his relentless experimentation with paint. Originally a sixteen-panel work, it draws on Renaissance drawing techniques, using cross-hatched lines to build a richly layered composition. Through impasto and wet-on-wet brushwork, the skull dissolves into the materiality of oil pigment – revealing shifting textures and colour as a meditation on impermanence, life and death.
This 37-layer limited edition print with matte varnish has been crafted in close collaboration to capture the depth, texture and painterly complexity of Zeng's original work.
