A face cuts through traffic in an acid print by Alexandre Farto, aka Vhils.

Blur sees street artist Vhils bring his abrasive methodology to silkscreen printing. The artwork is composed of two overlapping images – a busy street and a striking portrait. Both are intentionally anonymous. The artist presents an arresting metaphor for life in the big city, where cultural uniqueness is often overridden by the intensity of urban life.

Prints from the edition are individually hand-finished using quick ink and acid – eroding the surface of the artwork. In doing so, Vhils resists uniformity and blurs the lines between creation and destruction.
