This is a new limited edition print by James Jean.

Sun Tarot Nebula Pollen Print is based on the artist’s 2018 painting, Sun Tarot, which depicts a kneeling woman holding up the sun tarot card to protect herself from a dark forest. In this composition, the woman holds a butterfly tarot card. To James, the butterfly embodies transformation: shedding its former self to emerge as a new life.

This archival pigment print is crafted with silkscreen spot gloss varnish and die-cut bespoke edges. It is part of our new collaborative collection with James, Sun Tarot Nebula. You can browse the full collection here.

A nebula births new suns, which eventually return to stardust. While on Earth, life is born from clouds of pollen.

Taiwanese-American artist James Jean makes contemporary pop art that has captured the imagination of the art world and popular culture. His colossal internet following is a testament to his instantly recognisable style, which mixes a comic and manga sensibility with the detailed prowess of Renaissance painting and traditional Japanese wood carving. In his early career in the 2000s, James worked as a cover artist for the historic publisher DC Comics. During his time there, he became renowned in the industry and won numerous awards. Decades later, James is an internationally acclaimed artist famous for his painting, drawing, and digital artworks, as well as his sculptures and installations.
