Getting started
Before you begin, gather all the essential tools:
1 × Drill and screwhead
1 × Tape measure
1 × Spirit level
1 × Hammer
2 × Screws
2 × Plugs
1 × Pencil
Step 1. Determine hanging height
Decide where you want to hang your framed print and at what height. Make a pencil mark where you’d like the top of the frame to sit. Seek a helping hand for this step.
Step 2. Measure between the two tooth hanger bracket centres
Our frames come with two tooth hanger brackets. Measure the distance between the centre points of these brackets on the back of the frame.
Step 3. Mark the wall
Halve this distance, and from your centre pencil mark, make two new pencil marks to the left and right. For example, if the distance is 40cm, place a mark 20cm to the left and 20cm to the right.
Step 4. Mark bracket positions
Measure from the top of the frame to the top inside edge of each bracket (about 10 cm). Make two pencil marks directly below your previous two pencil marks.
Step 5. Drill holes
Once you’ve marked the wall, you’re ready to drill. Use the correct drill bit size for your plugs and screws. Drill two holes on the left and right pencil marks, then clear out any dust.
Step 6. Insert plugs & screws
Use a hammer if needed to gently insert the plugs, then screw in the screws so they protrude slightly (about 1.5 cm).
Step 7. Hang your piece
Carefully place the tooth hangers onto the screws. Use a spirit level to check it’s straight. Adjust if needed by loosening or tightening the screws.
