Bio
Joan Cornellà (born 1981) is a Barcelona-based cartoonist and illustrator known for his provocative, darkly satirical comic strips and artworks. With a candy-coloured palette and visual style reminiscent of “the naivety of old advertising” and airline safety pamphlets, he uses satire to expose the sinister and often bleak side of human nature, staging absurd, unsettling scenes.
From our obsessive relationship with social media and selfie culture to politically charged topics such as abortion and addiction, no subject is off limits. With a global audience of over 3 million on Instagram, Cornellà has amassed a cult following that shares an equal level of scepticism and cynicism, helping to unify a shared experience.
